This may not last a full 30 minutes, but it may give you a head start. I'd like to share with you a song that helped me find the right frame of mind to really settle down with God this morning. With several meetings looming today, I woke up pretty much dreading the next 15 hours. Thanks to rediscovering this song on the way to work this morning, and then again here in the office, I was able to really focus and open my day to my Father in heaven. So maybe you can find that too. Shut the door, turn off the cell phone, turn the lights down or off and listen to this song. It should play when you hit the play button below, but before you do, take a minute to just breathe. Breathe deeply and slowly. Settle yourself before you listen. After you listen to the song, it's your time to talk. Keep your eyes closed and maybe try talking out loud, not in your head. If this is helpful to you in some way, let me know sometime. For now, rest and listen and talk.
"Only You" David Crowder Band
I love this song. I too have been using music to help me get in the right frame of mind for worship. I've been using Pandora internet radio on "contemporary christian genre"... it's amazing how different songs that just randomly come on speak so perfectly to what is on my heart. I also have been reading some internet devotions. I read one about a week into our challenge that suggested another 30 day challenge! My first thought was "why do I have to do another challenge??!!" This one was to read Psalms 139 everyday for a month. To ponder it each day, and at the end of the 30 days to write it in your own words. After reading it the first time, I realized the answer to my question... God faced me with another challenge that involved routine in it because that is the way I work, it's what I need to make habits, and that is the way He made me. Psalms 139 has turned out to be an awesome way to pray.

More questions today from the 4-year old...
Noah: "Are Mary and Joseph Jesus' aunt and uncle?"
me: "No. They are his Mommy and Daddy."
Noah: "But God is His Daddy. How does that work?"
Yeah, questions from the kids are great. I am sending Noah your way on Sunday, Jason!

Caroline, I am happy to say, Pastor Missy will be speaking on Sunday, please refer all deep children questions to her! Just kidding, I will be happy to tell your son about the birds and the bees and why they really weren't involved with Jesus!
